This ranking is completely based on my subjective opinion. In this post I rated all one piece openings looking at its song and visuals. This ranking does not take into account if a certain opening has a spoiler or not. One last disclamer: you don’t have to agree with me!

Pre-Time skip ranking

Place 14 – Opening 7

This opening is literally opening 1 but worse. Nothing else to say about this one, I don’t like it.

Place 13 – Opening 10

Another rip-off of opening 1. I placed it higher because they changed the visuals at least. Well the song is still shit.

Place 12 – Opening 2

Old opening, it is not that bad, but it just doesn’t fit the style of One Piece. I don’t really like it, but I don’t hate it as well.

Place 11 – Opening 8

This opening is really not bad. I like how they showed the whole crew here. Engrish kinda annoyed me, that’s why I placed it here

Place 10 – Opening 5

Going into top 10 pre-time skip openings we have a pretty cool opening 5. It definitely has a nice vibe in it. I remeber I enjoyed it when I first watched one piece as well. The song sounds good, visuals are also well made. It shows of the incoming arc in a good way.

Place 9 – Opening 3

Very nostalgic opening! I love it’s chill style. It’s adventurous, makes you want to watch one piece more. It just brings back so many good memories I had with this show. I think around this opening I really got sucked into one piece, so it’s a bit sentimental to me as well.

Place 8 – Opening 4

This opening is very unique. I love its style as well. Especially Luffy talking at the beggining brings back a lot of memories. CGI on the ship was a bit unnecessary, but it still looks good.

Place 7 – Opening 12

Song is awesome, but visuals don’t really have anything to do with the current arc. It’s still very enjoyable to listen to afterwards that’s why I placed it here.

Place 6 – Opening 1

Absolutely fantastic introduction to One Piece. One of the most nostalgic opening for many. Great showcase of Shanks and his crew. Damn like One Piece changed so hard since then… Usopp shooting eggs with slingshot and just the sound effects itself, makes you wanna rewatch One Piece. And the times when we were afraid of sea monsters haha! One Piece is so amazing damn.

Place 5 – Opening 6

I absolutely love this opening. This song is so amazingly matching One Piece and the visual side of this opening is really stunning. Keep in mind that it’s from year 2006. I sometimes miss the old animation style.

Place 4 – Opening 11

Damn I remember when I first time heard this op and was like “damn that’s so fresh”. Another opening which perfectly matches One Piece adventurous style. I love how they showed straw hats with their names next to them. Surfing Luffy is also a thing you don’t see very often. “Come on everybody, oh we share the music” part hits with such a huge nostalgy every time.

Place 3 – Opening 9

I love it, the song, the rap, the visuals. Everything was directed perfectly here. I especially love the calm part when they are flying after the rap part. Very, very big if not the biggest pre-time skip vibe.

Place 2 – Opening 13

Sad, emotional, nostalgic. These three words perfectly describe this opening. The band and also anime team made a fantastic job. It shows perfecly the hope Luffy has of saving Ace. Well I’m not gonna lie it’s a material that can make you cry when you come back and listen to it after some time. Great showcase of Marineford arc which is also one of my favourite, and best made arcs in One Piece

Place 1 – Opening 14

Yes… Opening 14… Yes… I cried… Bruh I’m even close to crying when I’m listening to it while writing this. This opening is like a bomb that hits you with nostalgy sadness of Ace’s death . Whole straw hats crew shown with their hardest moments brings back so much memories that everyone would shed a tear. This emotional rollercoaster fairly makes this opening Number 1 in pre-time skip openings if not the whole One Piece.

Post-Time Skip ranking

Place 9 – Opening 21

Well it’s not like I hate this opening, but I just kinda dislike when they repeat “Yes we have super powers”. Well I don’t know it sounds weird to me. The rest of the opening is really not bad. I just like others more 🙂

Place 8 – Opening 16

Pretty good opening. I like the song which is pretty calm and chill. However Punk Hazard isn’t really my favourite arc. Fights in this opening are pretty well directed, fast and smooth, matching the music. Well I have to admit the way how they drew Nami’s face kinda triggers me.

Place 7 – Opening 17

Very good opening basically showing off all straw hats’ personality and also their abilities. I also liked how they’ve shown Blackbeard as a badass character and Luffy as the one who won’t give up fighting on him. Also a nice introduction to dressrosa arc.

Place 6 – Opening 20

Great song by Nami Amuro. I also love this arc with Sanji overall (looking at story at least). I kinda feel like they wanted to save their budget in this opening which is sad. Some camera movements are done poorly in my opinion, this opening had a potential for being in my top 3, but I just can’t stand some animations in it. Just why funimation?? 🙁

Place 5 – Opening 23

I like this opening a lot. Song is good and visuals are gorgerous. It’s really good, but it just doesn’t hype me like the upcoming ones on this list.

Place 4 – Opening 15

Fantastic introduction to time skip. This opening hypes you harder than a new berserk chapter! I absolutely love the singer of this opening, he just matches this series perfectly. Luffy smashing marine’s ships always looks good as well. The best part in this opening is the transition between the owners of the straw hat. All hail the director of this one!

Place 3 – Opening 19

WE NEED MORE ROCK OPENINGS! This opening is so awesome! Song matches perfectly with the visuals. The scene when they’re shooting each other with squirt guns is definitely my favourite one from this one. Fighting scenes are also well made. Nothing else to say I simply love it !

Place 2 – Opening 18

Ahhhh… This one has a vibe on another level! Song is very good as well as the visuals. Especially when they are running with the flag like they do in opening 6. Another opening that makes you hyped fast, showcasing a lot of great fights. I can’t listen to it without singing it out loud ^^

Place 1 – Opening 22

This Wano arc introduction is beyond perfect! They animation improvement mixed with a lot of symbolism and the way how well they matched it with this amazing song. I think this one gives you the biggest hype and motivation out of all previous openings. Great job on this one!

Summary

I love all One Piece openings some more some less, but they always remind me of amazing journey I had with this anime and manga. I will be sticking with One Piece till it ends and eventually update this list. Thanks for staying here with me till the end <3
