Great anime about a hard topic of life and death.
Animation
Despite the fact that the anime is quite old, its animation is still pretty good. Yes, it omits some moments from the manga, but not the key ones. The childhood of the main character was shown very well. His traumas from birth justify his selfish nature and concern for himself.
Fighting scenes
The animation of the fights is surprisingly good, considering the fact that it is an anime from 1997. The expression of the fighters’ faces, their emotions and in general just smooth character movements. The creatively shown camera angles give the impression of watching something much younger.
Griffith and the others
The anime perfectly portrays Griffith’s character as mysterious. We can clearly see the brotherly relationship between the members of the team founded by Griffith. As well as Guts’ initial difficulties with adapting to the group. The internal conflicts between Guts and the griffith are also well adapted
The beautiful music of Berserk
The berserk soundtrack fits perfectly into the entire series. It is very good and can evoke emotions. I also did not notice that the track was used in the wrong place, which is a very big plus. Overall the sound effects were made good. Opening is strange but unique in its own way. Opening for sure makes this anime stand out from others.
Conclusion
I think that Berserk is a must-watch for fans of bloody fights, as well as psychological puzzles and various legends. I think everyone should at least try to get on with a Berserker. This adaptation of one of the best-drawn manga with its intricate plot and twists is definitely worth a watch. My rating taking in term the year of production: 9/10
