Introduction
Great production with such a neglected sci-fi genre. The subject of something like parallel dimensions is something that I have been interested in for a long time and I am really surprised that so few anime have used this theme in which we are literally limited only by our imagination. It was my second time with this anime and my mind is blown anyway!
Story
Sakaido’s character is well presented in a very mysterious way. A detective working with the police, in the real world is a mass murderer. The anime also perfectly shows the fight of the main character within himself, who (as we get to know later) killed his family. Especially knowing the plot beforehand, we notice how Sakaido suffers from it and how hard it is for him. Anime builds tension very well to finally answer all the questions bothering viewers. The way the plot is explained is masterful. As Sakaido moves to the dimension in the middle of the dimension, the story actually starts to pick up pace. 10 minutes in one dimension equals a year in the other. It is perfectly presented how Sakaido refuses to accept that he is in a fictional world, still with his family. His emotions, when confronted with the truth, are presented in a brilliant way. After returning to the real world, Sakaido along with Hondomachi and Fukuda already know the truth about the mysterious John Walker, who is in fact the director of the entire company.
Well made antagonist
Takuhiko Hayaseura – the director main antagonist. His syndrome of divinity is brilliantly presented, as is his fascination with the number 7. The biggest twist is the fact that he produced all these murderers for his selfish objectives. The last episodes show what I liked the most about the anime. Interdimensional pursuit of the antagonist. God, why don’t we have more threads like this in other series? Surreal worlds in which everything can work differently: gravity, physics, the size of the objects in general, things are quite abstract from our point of view.
Animation
The ID: INVADED animation is good and very average at the same time. The animation itself used to portray the diversity of each dimension is great. Unfortunately, the CGI objects used do not fit into the atmosphere of the series. It kinda breaks the mood at times, but at least they didn’t use CGI a lot.
Great music
Now let’s move on to the music part which is very good. Especially insert songs unique for some episodes it add a variety to the action scenes. Opening is one of my favorite openings in anime in general. A good song with visuals that fit perfectly into the theme of the anime. Ending is also top notch.
Summary
In closing, the anime that introduces me to my later thoughts on the interesting topic of parallel dimensions will forever remain in a special place in my heart. Thank you for reading this till the end.
I rate this anime 8.7/10
