For one thing, I didn’t expect an anime about anthropomorphic animals to get so drawn in that I had to finish it before going to sleep.

Let's start with graphics and animation. The characters are animated using the CGI method and although I usually don't like this animation, it fits perfectly here. The emotions of the characters are especially well presented. In some places, the shading was not perfect, as is the case with CGI, but the authors managed to achieve what they probably cared about the most, i.e. very good facial expression. I also liked the way it showed the hero's thoughts and the fight in his head with himself.

As for theplot, it was quite good and thoughtful, but I missed a strong twist (maybe it will change in season 2). The anime keeps the viewer curious and wanting to watch the next episode - you cannot tear yourself away from it.

The series also touches on topics that areoften swept under the rug. On the basis of animals, a picture of racism and belief in stereotypes is perfectly presented. The main plot is, in a way, the forbidden romance between a rabbit and a wolf. After all, herbivores and carnivores cannot live in harmony with each other. There were also much darker topics like the black market, organ trafficking.

The short elements of the fight were presented well and most of all the fights did not last too long, which in my opinion is quite a positive thing (often with long fights their quality drops).

Thesoundtrack was rather enjoyable, but also wasn't amazing to listen to afterwards. From the finer details, the opening was brilliant. Different types of animations were used there and the two personalities of the characters were perfectly presented. In addition, it did not contain too many spoilers.

In conclusion,"Beastars" is a great mix of action and romance showing the important values of everyday life. Despite the rather serious mood, the anime also has humorous threads.

I would recommend it to anime experienced and newbies alike. The overall assessment, considering all the aspects and originality of this series, is 8/10 for me.
